PERSONALITY:

there is a lot to dakota then what meets the eye, one minute she can be very sweet and loving but the next she can be screaming her head off. no she doesn't have multiple persons syndrome, or whatever its called, she just can't control her emotions as much as she'd like and ends up snapping at people who, in her mind, deserve a lesson. think of a honeybee, the sting could hurt or be rather annoying, yet there is still honey which is really sweet. even if you get on her good side you are still subject to some sarcasm and small jokes. in fact dakota teases the people she knows the best more then the people she hates, because in the end they are still friends. if you are on the other side of kota's hatred you often get rude blunt comments if not a slap to the face.

in new situations dakota is quiet and stays to herself. if someone offers her a helpful hand it makes her question whats the person up to rather then thinking it is genuine help. it will take a while but if you get dakota to soften up you might just find a whole different person. she doesn't think much before she speaks and can sound pretty blond at times. not to mention all the embarrassing moments she could tangle herself into. but she loves to talk, and talk about anything really. with dakota around there will never be a silent moment. and if for a moment there is nothing to say dakota fitzgerald will be the one to ask that question with an obvious answer or make a comment on something completely irrelevant.

kota isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. her time schedule is worked around 'not studying' and 'procrastinating'. she'll purposefully go hang out with a friend or leave her book in some outlandish place just to have an accuse on why she didn't do her homework. the only thing dakota is freakishly good at is test taking. during class she zones in and out of the discussions; constantly doodling on her paper or staring out a window. but come test day dakota feels like all answers and obvious and its like they are just handing you extra credit. now once in a while there will be a test she booms so you probably don't want to cheat of her test or anything, but she gets enough to pass and stay out of trouble.

HISTORY:

dakota fitzgerald was born into a very interesting family to say the least. her father was just like anyone you'd meet down the street. ignatius fitzgerald was a normal american who just happened to fall in love with a rather different english women. velma blishwick met the love of her life while she was visiting friends in washington and everything she knew changed from there. in six months time they were married. their parents all believed it was a bad idea, espcially velma's but that never stopped the two love birds.

washington fitzgerald arrived not to long after their wedding and yes he was named after the state where his parents had fallen in love with. not to long after dakota came into the picture. (she was also named after a state but not one really connected to her family.) it was a shame that she was the last child in the fitzgerald's family because there are so many great state names out there like virginia, arizonia, and tennessee. it was about this time that the family started turning south. you see, these two were different from all the other children around and only their mother knew about it. velma blishwick was a witch and as much as she tried to cover it up in her children so that her husband wouldn't have to know it was impossible. washington wasn't exactly happy when his new sister got all the attention, and that was when the strange things began to happen. wash had his little tantrums when his father was at work so their mother had to try just as hard in order not to have her son reveal his magic.

it wasn't just washington who was starting to show how magical he was but dakota also. velma did her best to keep the children's power hidden and the plan backfired on her. ignatius came home early one day to see his wife trying to entertain the kids by performing magic. ignatius filed for divorce, he couldn't believe his wife had been keeping such a great secret from him. (and that her secret was that she was a witch, somethings muggles just can't understand). he let her leave with the children and never saw them again. dakota doesn't even remember her dad. she couldn't tell you his eye color or if he was nice or not, but part of her is happy about that. as a young girl she could just reinvent her father. kota always wished that he was some rich man who didn't actually leave them and maybe someday he'd come back.

their mother, very much heartbroken, moved back to england with her children. she got a job at st. mungos and dakota and her brother where put under the care of their grandmother. grandmother did her best to prepare them for hogwarts and dakota became very fond of her grandmother the year that wash was away. and yes, she loved her mother and her grandmother and she never wanted to leave them but the idea of hogwarts was just so grand. there wasn't anything she wanted more in the world then to follow in her brothers footsteps, join the quidditch team and become a slytherin. for the first few years she was able to look up at him as if he was the best person at the school. dakota even put a side all the detentions he would get and the letters that were sent home.

it was hard for dakota to follow him into the party scene but in the end she did. it was like alice falling down the rabbit hole. dakota wasn't as severe as her brother, she never disrupted class and only got detentions occasionally for slapping a few people (mind you, they all had it coming) but when it came to parties there was nothing to stop dakota. the slytherin girl was never a fan of smoking but drinking? drinking she could do. and silly drunk games? they were her favorite. underneath it all dakota has a very serious personality and she's the most serious when it comes to quidditch. in her mind she's learned from the best, her brother, but she still needs much improvement. at the moment she's selling love potions in the girl's bathroom trying to raise money for a better broom. once she leaves hogwarts she doesn't know what she wants to do, right now her main goal is to just graduate and leave as fast as possible.

it sure had been an interesting holiday break. evangeline finnigan finally got to meet her niece and spend time with her younger brothers. the idea that she was now an aunt was crazy but it didn't surprise her as much as finally being an older sister. it made her second guess a lot of things, like how she always thought she liked kids. don't get confused, evangeline isn't a baby hater or anything like that... its just waking up at ungodly times in the morning to the screaming twins wasn't something evan would wish on to her worst enemies.

the most important part of break, in evan's mind, was spending time with leroy. sure he was working most of the time but no one stopped her from coming in and talking to him when he wasn't working with customers. sometimes mrs. longbottom would have to come by and remind leroy that he had to work or he wouldn't be getting paid but she always seemed nice about it. now her small break from school was ending and soon she'd be heading back to hogwarts, might as well make the best of it. the leaky cauldron was having a new year's party and with a pinch of floo powder she was right in the middle of it all.

evan had never seen the leaky so full before which meant two things. business was really good and leroy must be really busy. the hufflepuff made her way to the bar hoping that it wasn't already full. by the looks of things almost all the other seats were already taken. maybe it was less crowded outside and as soon as leroy was off his shift they could sneak out of the leaky, but after looking out the window evan couldn't help wondering if all the witches and wizards around the world were in diagon alley.

lucky enough for evan there were a few empty seats at the bar and behind it working the counter was her favorite person in the world. "i'll take a butter beer please" evan beamed at leroy as she took a seat. butterbeer was her regular order so there shouldn't be any suprise there."or you know... a small kiss would be just fine."evangeline blushed and looked down at her hands. sure she'd kissed leroy tons of times but not while he was on the job and especially around so many people. but it was new year's wasn't it? what better time then now to do something new.
