PERSONALITY:
With Tinsley, what you see is what you get. She’s not the sort of person who cares to shroud herself in mystery. Firstly, she doesn’t have the cunning and sly ability to make people believe that she’s something slick, because she definitely isn’t. She stumbles over her words often, because she speaks rather quickly and with many flamboyant hand gestures. She also stumbles over just about anything in her path- she’s very klutzy. Secondly, she doesn’t see the point. Why would she bother trying to be something that she isn’t? Tinsley’s found it’s much more enjoyable to be exactly who she is, quirks and all, rather than be something false. False personalities attract false friends, and she definitely doesn’t want to waste time on that.
With a split family, busy father, and many younger step-siblings, Tins grew up really quickly in some ways, but maintained an eternal youth in others. The oldest, she often was charged with taking care of her many brothers. In this way, she learned responsibility and the way to wrangle immature boys with pristine skill. Her down-to-earth methods of childcare make her a favorite among young kids, and also help her keep a lively, spirited aura about her. She’s not afraid to try a new sport, roll around in the mud, or spit, but she can also sit happily in a tutu and veil, sipping fake tea from a plastic cup. Boys or girls, she’s a master (though she has a soft spot for the young lads in her life), which is why she’s made a living out of being a nanny.
Tinsley never had a soft spot for romance. When she was in school, she’d always the girl that got along with most people, just awkwardly versatile enough to connect with those who wished to be connected with (the arrogant, conceited type definitely turn Tinsley off). With girls, she was a good friend who was trustworthy and funny. With guys, she was the girl who could kick back with them and be just as tough or just as immature. This immediately friend-zoned her for most boys that she was friends with. Sure, she went on her handful of dates and had a couple embarrassing hookups just like most girls, but she never pursued anything. Romance just wasn’t something that was on her radar. Maybe someday it’ll hit her in the face, but for the moment, she’s still rather stubborn and sickened by excessive public displays of affection, overly stuffed bouquets of flowers, and ridiculously extravagant teddy bears and jewelry.
There's some notes in here... Were they writing their freaking life story? HISTORY: William O’Malley and Cassandra Noth were young and in love. They were married right out of Hogwarts and immediately had two children, who they both adored with all their hearts. They were good parents, supportive of their children in every way, but it became more and more apparent to them that they just didn’t love each other the way they used to. Forever fond of the other as their first love, they parted ways on good terms, especially careful that the children understood their separation. Still very young, Tinsley and her brother didn’t take things too hard. Their parents weren’t fighting, they were just living apart. They were too little to understand all the other complicated matters. Honestly though, it wasn’t very complicated.
Tinsley and her brother grew up living in the same house as Cassandra, but they saw their father very often. A lot of the time the family would still do things together, like go out to eat or go hiking (Tinsley’s favorite). It was a very comfortable, despite being unconventional, way to grow up, but they made it work. It was interesting, as they aged, to start to truly understand what had happened between their parents. It was even more interesting to see their parents date other people. Cassandra saw a variety of different men during her years, but she didn’t sleep around or commit to any of them. She seemed to be very content to see different kinds of people.
William, on the other hand, fell hard. Maria Elms truly was his match. The two dated for a very long time before getting married, and finally tied the knot when Tinsley turned nine (she was Maria’s maid of honor and her six year old brother was William’s best man in their small ceremony). The couple immediately started having children, and Tinsley and her brother, by the time Tinsley was eighteen, were given four little step-siblings: all boys. But Maria and William didn’t stay in England. William’s job had transferred him to Canada, so that’s where the O’Malleys went, and Tinsley decided to go with them. She had always lived with her mother, and the idea of travelling somewhere new and exciting for her schooling was hard to resist. She had also developed a fond attachment for her little siblings, her “nuggets” as she liked to call them.
Her school years seemed to zip by. She often visited home, however, to see her brother and mother. There were many happy Christmases spent together, and even a few where Cassandra and brother joined Tinsley and William in Canada. All-together, Tinsley enjoyed her childhood and early adolescence, loving school for everything it offered, and especially the friendships she’d developed there. Once she turned seventeen, however, she once again experienced an itching for something different and new in her life. Graduating from school and with no idea of what to do, it was a very interesting owl from her mother that gave her a new direction in life.
Her mother’s friend, Lavender Finnigan, had recently passed away in a dreadful fire in Diagon Alley. There were some very complicated circumstances surrounding her death, but more so the life of her son. Sam, also nineteen, had a young daughter, as well as two young twin brothers, all of whom were now without maternal care (it seemed that the girl’s mother had also perished). He was in desperate need of some help, and Cassandra wanted to know if she should offer Tinsley as a nanny. Tinsley couldn’t have been happier with the development (despite the horrific circumstances surrounding it), and decided to move back to England for the full time job.
